Tiye Sherrod-Robinson
Trainer. Speaker. Educator.

Tiye Sherrod-Robinson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  After graduating from high school, she went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to pursue a degree in Economics.  While studying to receive her degree, she also spent a great deal of time taking classes with the Intergroup Relations Program (IGR) that Michigan offers undergraduate students.  After participating in a race dialogue, Tiye fell in love with the program and the cultural awakening it provided for her personally.  In 2007, she took on the challenge of being a dialogue facilitator and completed the extensive training in Michigan's IGR Program. She went on to teach her first intergroup dialogue class on gender norms and stereotypes that hosted several other undergraduate students.   Since her time at Michigan, Tiye has worked to promote racial equity by:

• Presenting at the 2018 Harvard Alumni of Color Conference

• Presenting at the 2020 Big XII Conference

• Presenting at the 2020 Midwest Culturally Inclusive Conference

• Co-creating the workshop "Dealing with Difficult Difference" with fellow facilitator Dr. John Stewart.  Her work on this project was featured in the September 2015 Telegraph Herald article 'People Who Make a Difference'

• Presenting at the 2017 and 2018 Loyola University Chicago Black Lives Matter Conference

• Presenting at the 2018 Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity

Currently, Tiye holds a Master of Science in Higher Education and works at a community college in IL.
